"Shop B" is a more "serious" record shop. I don't go to this one as much, but occasionally I'll drop in to see what's happening. It lives right in the middle of town, in the basement of an otherwise nondescript building that I have no idea what it's for, but it gives me law office vibes. This shop carries a ton of new records, mostly rock & heavy metal. They also have a decent selection of CDs, and a sad little corner for used records (which is where the heat is). Shop A happens to be inside a winery, which would be great if I were an alcoholic but I think I prefer the vibes here. They've gone for a whole man-cave type thing that I quite enjoy. You know how as a kid you'd go to your "better than you" friend's house and they'd have a basement with a bar and a pool table and all that useless crap? Same kinda vibe. For some reason, it reminds me of the song "Punk Rock Girl" by The Dead Milkmen. There's a line in the song about visiting a record shop, so whenever that bit comes up this is usually the place that I imagine. The selection here is generally quite good, but since they carry mostly new records, the prices can be a bit steep. I usually limit myself to one new record. Fortunately, the CDs and used records are usually priced quite fairly.
