Everybody Loves You Now Billy Joel 1971

Finally, a song I'm actually familiar with.

A while ago I picked up Billy Joel's "The Hits" CD. Normally with compilations like this, I stick to the songs I know, but this song happened to be track 1, so I had no choice but to listen to it. It's good.

It's also a FRAUD! The version of this song that you're likely familiar with is not the original version. The original pressing suffered from a mixing issue that caused all the songs on the album to be played too fast.

As such, when Billy Joel's career started to take off, they reissued the album with many of the songs reworked based on their live versions. For this song in particular, they pulled the guitar that originally played alongside the piano. I do like both versions, but generally prefer the reissue.
